Honda’s global vehicle output drops 11% in October

Japanese automaker Honda Motor Company reported an 11% year-on-year drop in global production to 302,671 vehicles in October 2025, down from 339,638 units in the same month last year, with output in Japan declining by 3.6% to 63,662 units and overseas production falling by almost 13% to 239,009 units.

In the first ten months of 2025, the company produced a total of 2,893,969 vehicles globally, down by 7.4% from 3,126,147 units a year earlier, with domestic output lower at 567,780 units, while overseas production dropped by 9% to 2,326,189 units.

Vehicle production in Asia, excluding Japan, dropped by 18% to 890,684 units year-to-date, with output in China down by over 17% to 545,804 units. Volumes in Indonesia plunged by 30% to 58,720 units, with declines also reported in Malaysia and Thailand. Production in North America declined by 3% to 1,349,714 units, with output in the US falling by almost 6% to 819,140 units.

Overall exports from Japan increased by 21% to 85,491 units in the ten-month period, driven by an almost fourfold increase in exports to the US to 17,132 units, while exports to Europe fell by over 16% to 32,740 units.
